One of the surprises at the Toy Fair was the appearance of a new Tamiya TRF 4 WD Buggy. All indications seemed to point to a scaling back of Tamiya Racing Factory operations, including the releasing of multiple European Champion Lee Martin (who has now signed with Yokomo).
However there it was, the new Belt driven TRF 503, usual fantastic Tamiya quality all the latest design features, but what market will it find? TRF has always been poorly represented in the UK due to the distributor not being interested in the small volumes, and even European support has waned somewhat, but it is still a strong brand in it’s Japanese homeland so it is there that the majority of sales will come from!
It’s a worlds off year in 2015, perhaps we will see more TRF off-road momentum in 12months time as they plan for the IFMAR 1/10th Electric Worlds at the Yatabe arena in Japan?
Lots of pics after the jump
